Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern all services provided by Bas Brick Works (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) to clients (“the Client”, “you”, or “your”). By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

These terms apply to all brickwork, masonry, construction, repair, and related services provided by Bas Brick Works throughout the United Kingdom.

2. Scope of Services

Bas Brick Works provides professional masonry services including but not limited to:

  • Bricklaying and structural masonry
  • New build brickwork
  • Property extensions
  • Garden walls and exterior masonry
  • Repairs and restoration work
  • Pointing and brick replacement
  • Structural brickwork for residential and commercial properties

All services will be carried out according to the specifications agreed in writing between the Company and the Client.

3. Quotations

All quotations provided by Bas Brick Works:

  • Are valid for 30 days from the date of issue
  • Are based on the information provided by the Client at the time
  • May be subject to revision if additional work or unforeseen structural issues arise

Quotations do not include additional work unless explicitly stated.

4. Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the following payment structure applies:

  • Deposit: A deposit of 30–50% may be required prior to commencement of work
  • Stage Payments: For larger projects, staged payments may be required
  • Final Payment: Due immediately upon completion of work

Payments must be made within 7 days of invoice unless otherwise stated.

Bas Brick Works reserves the right to suspend work if payments are not received within the agreed timeframe.

Late payments may incur interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

5. Project Timelines

All timelines provided are estimates only.

Project completion dates may be affected by:

  • Weather conditions
  • Supply chain delays
  • Structural discoveries during construction
  • Changes requested by the Client
  • Site access limitations

Bas Brick Works will make reasonable efforts to complete work within the agreed timeframe.

6. Materials

Where Bas Brick Works supplies materials:

  • Materials will meet UK construction standards
  • Equivalent materials may be substituted where necessary due to availability
  • Natural variations in bricks, mortar, and stone are normal and do not constitute defects

If the Client supplies materials, Bas Brick Works cannot guarantee their quality or suitability.

7. Site Access and Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to:

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to the site
  • Ensure the work area is clear prior to project commencement
  • Provide access to utilities if required (water, electricity)
  • Inform Bas Brick Works of any underground utilities or structural risks

Failure to provide proper access may result in delays or additional charges.

8. Health and Safety

Bas Brick Works operates in accordance with UK Health and Safety legislation, including:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015

The Company reserves the right to suspend work if unsafe conditions are present.

9. Variations and Additional Work

Any changes requested by the Client after work has commenced may:

  • Affect the project cost
  • Extend the completion timeline

All variations will be confirmed in writing before additional work is carried out.

10. Liability

Bas Brick Works will carry out all services with reasonable care and skill.

However, we shall not be liable for:

  • Structural issues not visible prior to work commencing
  • Pre-existing property defects
  • Damage caused by factors beyond our control
  • Natural settlement or environmental conditions

Our liability is limited to the value of the contract for the services provided.

11. Insurance

Bas Brick Works holds appropriate Public Liability Insurance and other relevant coverage required to carry out masonry services within the United Kingdom.

Insurance certificates can be provided upon request.

12. Cancellation

If the Client cancels the project after work has commenced:

  • The Client will be responsible for payment for all work completed to date
  • Materials purchased for the project may be charged to the Client

Deposits are non-refundable once project preparation has begun.

13. Warranty

Bas Brick Works provides a 12-month workmanship warranty on completed brickwork.

This warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by external factors
  • Structural movement of buildings
  • Client-supplied materials
  • Normal wear and environmental exposure

14. Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our services, please contact us in writing so the matter can be investigated and resolved promptly.

Bas Brick Works aims to resolve complaints fairly and professionally.

15. Privacy

Any personal information collected during the course of business will be handled in accordance with UK GDPR and applicable data protection laws.

16. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

17. Acceptance

By accepting a quotation, signing a contract, or instructing Bas Brick Works to commence work, the Client confirms they have read and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
